The Golden Hour-As Seen in Flutter Magazine

I’m excited for this latest magazine feature with some of my favorite people. Have you read Flutter Magazine before? I’ll be honest, I hadn’t held a copy “in real life” before they featured a shoot that I designed and styled and I have to say I was completely impressed! The paper and images were clearly high quality and it was beautifully curated. You should definitely pick up a copy for yourself, but here is the spread none-the-less:

This shoot is so perfect for our current weather with the nip in the air and beautiful autumnal light we’re having these days. These paper products by Little Miss Press are truly some of my favorite ever. They felt incredible in person (apparently I’m rather tactile these days!) and had such beautiful detailing. Bianca is so incredible at taking some rambling of an idea I give her and turning it into pieces of art. Hire her.

I love this shoot so much too because of how “Oregon” it feels. I grew up outside of Corvallis (where this was shot) kicking these chestnuts across the street as I walked home from school as a kid. My best friend always hunts for these chantrelle mushrooms with her family. And that moss? One of the best motivations not to hate the 9+ months of rain a year you get in the Willamette Valley!

Starflower made the most incredible arrangements for our shoot. I absolutely love her centerpieces and just can’t get that amazing bouquet out of my mind. When I called her to talk about my “vision” I mentioned mushrooms in the bouquet and she had just picked some and said she could wire them into the bouquet. I love how unexpected that is, and subtle too, because you know…that could get weird (but didn’t).

Beth Level completely knocked the make-up out of the park, hire her too. She had the amazing idea of putting a touch of yellow eye shadow on Dominique. I never would have thought of that, but it’s so subtle and striking in this image.

This issue of Flutter mag is on stands now, go pick yourself up a copy and see the other amazing artists who’s work is featured as well!
